Templeton Crop Nutrients, LLC (TCN)

FAC, West Central Cooperative, and Dedham Cooperative are the three investors in Templeton Crop Nutrients (TCN).  This one-of-a kind 22,000-ton dry fertilizer facility resides in Templeton, Iowa. It is located directly on a railroad line, giving FAC access to fertilizer products upon demand. The hub improves the supply and logistics during agronomy season.

Facts about TCN
  •  TCN facility is the first building of its type to contain no bin cross tie rods.
  •  Total dry fertilizer storage capacity of this building is over 22,000 tons.
  •  Fertilizer pile reaches 50 feet from the floor to the peak within the bins.
  •  The building is filled entirely with only 2 conveyor belts that run 1,200 tons per hour rated capacity
  •  A 1,200 ton per hour capacity equates to one railcar every five minutes.
  •  The receiving conveyor is 275 feet in length.
  •  The overhead tower holds 200 ton of preconditioned fertilizer.
  •  Two 12-ton vertical blenders can weigh, blend, and load a semi-load of blended fertilizer in less than five minutes.
